Conflict Resolution
|
Conflicts are like the dirty dishes! They are an inseparable part of everyday life both at home and at work. If we do not take care of them immediately, they have at tendency to pile up!
But since conflicts are mainly about negative feelings, they are not as easy to handle as the dirty dishes. We either try to avoid them or we tackle them in such a way, that they just keep on coming back. They start influencing our relationships and co-operation, they drain our energy and stress us.

I offer courses
which focus on how conflicts can be seen as opportunities instead of limitations. I offer possibilities of tackling disagreements constructively and in a way whereby words like ‘dynamics’, ‘development’ and ‘fruitful cooperation’ really start making sense. I communicate:
• Knowledge about conflicts and their dynamics, i.e. how conflicts escalate.
• Insight into one’s own and others’ conflict patterns, i.e. in a workplace context.
• Tools to communicate in a conflict-solving way with focus on dialogue.

Teaching or doing active conflict resolution?
A course in conflict resolution takes a starting point in the concrete problems and challenges you experience in your own everyday situation and can be tailored to meet specific needs. I distinguish between teaching conflict resolution and solving concrete conflicts i.e. in a more process-oriented course or by mediation.
When solving concrete conflicts or with tasks involving mediation, I cooperate with members of my network. In that kind of situation, it is very useful to have more than two pairs of eyes and ears involved, because it improves the quality of the solution.
